With the change to new forums earlier this month, there was a bit of a scramble on the behalf of a group of detail oriented people who wanted to ensure that useful data remained just as visible as it was before. These archivists put a lot of effort into maintaining posts that are filled with data useful to all players of EQII.
It's a good time to stop and check out all the great work they are doing, and give them a word of thanks for all their extra effort. Be you a new player, or a veteran with over two years of play experience, if you have read the forums you have likely read one of their informative posts.
The "Things I Wish I'd Known Earlier" thread is maintained in the Newbie Yard by Lodrelhai, the second keeper of this extensive archive. If you are a new player of EQII, this post is almost mandatory reading, highlighting many of the commands and features of the game. The level of detail in this guide is extensive, and there is nary a game subject that isn't talked about in the seventeen topical areas. Even veteran players are bound to find something they just didn't know.
Are you a crafter, or looking into exploring the various Tradeskill options that are available in EQII? Calthine's "FAQ and Guide Links" post in the Tradeskill forum covers the width and breadth of tradeskill options in EQII with extensive links all across the internet. Even if your question is very specific the answer is almost assuredly here.
While we are talking about the Tradeskills, Drasic has an incredibly detailed (and image laden) post showing all Tinkered items grouped together by their type. Drasic has captured the in game examination windows for every item in the game and collected them into this one greater post. Well done Drasic!
Confused the Achievement system? Ixnay shed's clarity on the entire system, pre-updated for GU32. His post draws from prior information and sums up the entire Achievement system in one nice and readable format. Included in the question and answer format of the post is a nice summation of the prefix titles that come from completing a line of Achievements.
You've seen lots of people on horses and always wondered what it would cost to have one. Garthan clears it up with a thread that not only details the costs, but also includes an image for every mount detailed. It's an excellent visual price guide to the mounts.
Naturally, these great players' efforts can't cover every aspect of the game in detail, but they are great guides none the less. If you would like to know more about other aspects of the game, be sure to check out the FAQ forum for even more information. Also, be sure to check out the EQII Tips and Tricks forum for even more guides written by your friends in the community. There is a wealth of information available for all within!
