Lavastorm  Zone Review

Lavastorm, arriving from the Nektulos Forest at the Docks, it will be immediately clear why the zone is called Lavastorm. Right there at the docks is a small building and inside you will find various quests. The Lost Legends of Lavastorm Heritage Quest being one of them. The other ones are more appealing though if you're not yet in the higher 40's. Over the bridge and to the shore you will find plenty of fire elementals along with goblins in and past the cave. This is one of the best grinding spots in Norrath for the lower 40's. One of the goblins past the cave will be looking for your help; once again a Heritage Quest awaits, this time the one for the Golden Efreeti Boots. But this time I'd recommend the higher 40's before delving into that quest. Since your now getting closer to the lava, a warning shall be placed here, swimming in the lava is not to be recommended.

If you want to harvest, but Feerrott is full, well, then you have also come to the right area since there are plenty of nodes everywhere. If you decide to delve deeper into Lavastorm, it would be best to not go alone, so, form a group and head onwards and deeper into the Zone.

Right after the bridge, there is a small goblin encampment. If you dare to look inside you might get lucky and find Griblic Flametooser inside. If not then it still was worth looking because the Efreeti Lore and Legend Quest starts there.

If you make your way further through the army of goblins you will find another path which leads you to an area with spiders, rumblers and some elementals. Or, if you're a bit higher in levels already, you can continue deeper into the zone along the path leading to a dangerous area with lava filled pits and deadly enemies. Ultimately you will arrive at the Temple of Ro; it's not an actual zone, but an impressive looking building nonetheless. Inside you will find mostly ghosts and other creepy Undead Creatures as well as several nameds and a soor leading to a small instance called Sanctum of Fire.

Once you made you way through the Temple you will leave at the other side and find an area filled with drakes that only wait for some unwary adventurers to cross their path. There are two paths, one leading to the Maidens Gulch instance and the other leading towards Solusek's Eye. If you choose the latter, you will travel past golems and drakes and right before Solusek's Eye you will also meet the fire giants. Once your up there, there is one thing you simply must do first. See that gnomish looking object on the ground? That is a Teleporter. If you step on it you can use it in the future to port there and back again from the docks and save yourself a journey each time you want to go to Solusek's Eye.

In short: Lavastorm is an impressive looking zone. It is good for harvesting when the Feerrott is overcrowded. There are plenty of mobs even though mostly heroic ones. There aren't many solo quests to find here, but for those you might head over to Steamfont where there are plenty.
