Solusek's Eye Zone Review - Recommended level: High 40 - Low 50

Soluseks Eye, reached through Lavastorm, is a big dungeon for those in the higher 40's to lower 50's. Right at the start there are some gnomes, they will ask you to blow up some enemies a bit deeper in, the quest line from there will eventually lead to some nice rewards. Heading to the right you will come to a area filled with goblins, but, also a elevator. After using it (who could resist clicking things?) you will find yourself at the bottom of a pit. There are several nameds down there with some nice loot.

Back up the elevator and headed the other way, you will eventually get to a second elevator. This elevator however doesn't lead to a pit, but to the biggest part of the zone. Right at the bottom of it, you will have to fight your way through some Efreeti's. Just a bit further awaits a named centipede and a named spider. Both of them will require you to clear some lesser mobs that are keeping them safe, but eventually you'll get to them and their loot.

In the Tunnel that leads further in you will meet a 54x2 named mob, ooops... wrong turn. Back a bit and deeper in through the right tunnel. Those tunnels are not only filled with golems, but, if you look closer there are also several clickable quest starters.

Now it is time to meet the might of the fire giants. Right there at the start of the 5th floor is a named fire giant with his friends. Defeat him and you're very likely to walk away with a nice legendary item or a master spell.

Even if the door at the opposite end of the room seems tempting, head to the left first, as there is a gnomish object on the floor. Yes, the gnomes have been busy tinkering and came up with a teleporter. Simply step on it to activate it and in the future you will be able to teleport straight down there from the top of the zone.

Past the door and around a pool of scary bubbling lava you will have a choice, go straight away deeper in or head to Bastion of Flames. Bastion of Flames is a smallish instance that has a few tricks you'll have to figure out though or you'll quickly find out where the nearest revive point is.

Let's go back to Solusek's Eye for now though. As you travel further in you will no longer have walls to your left and right that give a feeling of safety. You will be walking over some scary thin glass paths, but, do you dare to look down to where you can see the deadly lava almost boiling?

Right after your first encounter with those tiny glass paths you will have another choice. Did you come here to turn your Relic Armor patterns in? In that case, head right and you will find one of three friendly giants in Norrath. If you prefer to venture deeper, then you will have to go the opposite direction, continuing the dangerous journey.

Once you've found out how the elevator works that connects the 5th, 6th and 7th floor (hint, you don't necessarily have to go down to reach the lower floors) you will be almost there… There? Where are you leading me? Well, to the Oratorium of Thyr. The Oratorium is a small instance you will have to fight your way through at least once. Don't worry too much though, since the loot makes up for the time it takes.

Right after the Oratorium once could think threes no way to continue. There is a ledge, unless you prefer the alternative of a soothing bath in the lava. How do you get down that ledge to the path that leads deeper in? I've found it the easiest to see where to go with adjusting the camera to be almost a straight down view.

Well, there it is, the final clickable object, the one and only way to reach the lair in which Lord Nagafen is plotting for his return. But there are some ancient Powers still at work that keep him in there so, unless you step a bit too hard on his toe's you will be safe.
