It is an honour to recognize their continuing comittment to the EverQuest II Legacy.
What is the Guide Program?
A Guide is a player who donates their time to run events in game for their fellow players. Guides support their fellow players helping to create an immersive and enjoyable gaming experience. Guides appear throughout Norrath and interact with other players through role-play and by hosting special questing events.
To show our appreciation to the Guides who dedicate their time to enriching playtime withing EQII, SOE will provide all Guides who attend Fan Faire with an Honorary Guide Certificate and Living Legacy t-shirt. Additionally, one Guide will receive the Player Legacy Award, “The Dedicated" for being the longest active member of the Guide Program.
What is Day in the Life of a Guide Like?
Cathis - Fun.... You have to ensure that you have read the boards to see if anything new is happening or any new info is out. You then plan your day, what servers to play on, what quests/events you want to book and run...
Ajoh – The days in a Guide's life are pure fun! There are some reasons for it: Every day is different from the day before, some players know you and you know them, but most players have never seen a guide before. This is the big advantage of a great MMORPG.
Kaliegh - I spend most of my days wandering Norrath learning all I can from adventurers and crafters alike about the ins and outs of the cities. I love hearing about the best fighting spots and the newest quests. I can't resist aiding the Overlord or Queen by running a quest or two myself. Most days you will find me lazing around the docks enjoying a nice drink and good tale with players, or holding answer circles on the tutorial islands, greeting the new faces.
Squeecha – Me personally, I like wandering in the isles and other starting areas and meeting the new adventurers or wandering to the harbors to say hello to adventurers who are getting ready to go out on another bold adventure. (I calls them adventurers even though some wants to be called heroes. Haven’t they ever figured out that the title hero usually has the word “dead" right by it?)
Why Did you Join the Guide Program and What Keeps You Involved?
Cathis - Players.... As a guide you build up a lot of friends, people who enjoy helping you with quests/events and just enjoy spending time with you... The rest of your server team, I would not be where I am today without their help and guidance. The constant challenge of playing the game....
Delaya – The fun for the players and with the players! My decision was right, I've met a lot of people having fun with role-playing and sharing my love of EQ2.
Kaleigh – The thanks from players, and when a quest works out really well. Nothing is better than having a great time and laughing with players, especially knowing how rewarding an experience it is for them as well as me. I also love teaching new guides, as a senior I am very fortunate to bring up many new guides into the program.
Ajoh – I played EQII a very long time as a player before I heard anything of the Guides. In Germany, the Guides were introduced later than on other EQII-servers. When I heard about the possibility to "sign in" as a Guide, I filled out the application at the same day. The reason is: I'm very interested to bring the fun and the possibilities of EQII to the players. It is worth, to spend the own time in this project.
Would You Like to Share Some of Your Thoughts on EQII?
Pabinee – These last 2 years as a Guide have been really great. I cannot imagine a better group of people to work with (Guides) or work for (Players). To all of them I offer my deepest admiration and /Salute.
Xoyras – Knowing how much we (guides) are appreciated by the players. There's a great sense of satisfaction in receiving a tell from a player who you helped out a few days ago telling you that their problem has been fixed. Seeing players enjoying the quests we run also makes me smile.
Squeecha – Yes. Makes sure you stops and says Hello to a Guide (or a Knight in Vanguard) the next time you see one (we loves to talk with peoples.. even kitties). We don’t always have a big “Guide" sign floating over our head, but a lot of people are surprised how much we actually are around once they know what to looks for. And if you is in EQII and sees someone wandering around in green in the Guides of the Shattered Lands, then you has found one.And for your viewing pleasure...
