The Moors of Ykesha is often thought of as the marshlands once known by the name Innothule Swamp.
| In truth, this island in the southeast corner of the Shattered Lands is comprised of two regions. |
When the cataclysmic event called the Rending ripped apart Old Antonica to form the islands of the Shattered Lands, Innothule and a portion of the southern tip of the Serpent's Spine mountains stood fast to form the Moors of Ykesha.
| The Moors are dominated by a humid biosphere. To the west you will find the low marshes of the Broken Skull Bog. It is here that the pirates of Clan Broken Skull maintain their base of operations. Continuing east you will run into the stone wall that rises to create the Rallosian Ridge. In these heights, the Second Rallosian Empire once commanded an army that ruled over all of Innothule during the Age of Monuments. |

The Children of the gods, mortals, believe there to be an anti-universe to all of existence. This oblivion is what they call the Void. In truth, the Void is not an anti-universe that is in juxtaposition to reality but rather, it is a conduit to non-existence. Where there is reality, something, there is also nothing. The Void is the corridor to nothing. Before anything can be totally ripped from the past, present, and future of reality, it must cross through the Void.
| This is a dimension, not a plane, that was in existence before the beginnings of Norrath. It is the nothing from which everything grew. The Nameless, the supreme entity of reality, touched this nothingness and a new universe came to life. |
What was once nothing, became something. However, a portion of this nothing exists within all reality in the form of a dimension that touches everything in Norrath in all of time.
| It was not the only dimension created at the dawn of time, but it is the most powerful and most dangerous. To see the Void is to forever be part of it. Stay here for too long and escape becomes impossible. |

The Void is a mass of nothing with chunks of lifeless matter slowly floating about a massive emptiness at its core.
| The entirety of this dimension looks like a universe sized black hole. At its heart, the swirling vortex holds the portal to non-existence. |
The portal slowly pulls all life that enters into the Void inexorably towards itself. All floating debris drifts closer to the vortex until it is finally consumed. Ripped from reality, never to be realized again, it phases into nothingness.
| There is no life native to the Void. Although, living creatures and matter may be found here, trapped forever. These entities have fallen through universal anomalies or have been sent to oblivion by omnipotent beings, the latter of which is unfortunately the most common entry to this bleak landscape. |

Many entities that have fallen into the Void eventually vanish completely from reality. This is not true for all.
| A small minority of entities have found a way to jump from floating asteroid to floating asteroid, avoiding the inevitable oblivion that comes when one enters the center of the vortex. The actual time it takes for debris, living or otherwise, to fall prey to the vortex is often mere weeks. |
However, some trapped denizens of the Void have found a way to preserve their outposts for longer than a century. This feat is accomplished by engineering arcane outposts that anchor themselves to the Void and to a point in any solid world... A world like Norrath.
| The Shadowed Men are one of these races. Never truly able to leave this wasteland, the Shadowed Men found a way to use their mental powers to inspire those in the mortal realms to erect structures. These ambiguous monuments to them work as arcane anchors for Shadowed Man fortresses in the Void. |
