The last of the Erudin group instances is the Erudin Royal Palace. It is the central stronghold of the corruptive influence on Erudin and Odus as a whole. The void has been using the powerful knowledge gathered here to aid their efforts in taking over Norrath. Stephanie Young is one of the artists who worked on the Erudin zones. Why is this super cool? Because she also worked on Erudin in EverQuest and EverQuest Online Adventures.
This zone is designed for groups level 90+ and is the most difficult of the three Erudin instances.
From Timetravelling:
Brett "Timetravelling" Scheinert, took some time out of his efforts to make the expansion awesome to answer questions for us about this last of the Erudin group instances. Thank you very much Brett and everyone for all the hard work and the help with previewing these zones!
What sort of feel were you trying to give players with this zone?
Terror? Mender fees? This is the seat of Lord Primarch’s power and the Erudites and Gruengach that players face within are powerful and extremely deadly. The boss encounters are complex and hard-hitting, and the visuals are spectacular
What’s your favourite part of the zone?
The visuals surrounding the El’Arad encounter. Chris Atkins created Lord Primarch’s unique model and weapon (yes, it’ll drop), Stephanie Young created the massive, detailed room he resides in, and Gary Daugherty created some amazing spell-visuals that reflect the massive amounts of power El’Arad channels.
What do you think is the most impressive part of the zone?
The zone is extremely vertical, with each floor opening up into an even more impressive setting than the previous. Or perhaps it’s that certain raid boss visible but unreachable on the third floor…
