Real life first name: Eric
Forum handle: Ixnay
Main Character name: Elleffgee
Server: Nektulos
Guild: Dissolution
Where in do you live in real life? Bay Area, Northern California
How long have you played EQII? Since Nov. 11, 2004!
What other MMOs have you played? I played EQ for almost 5 years before switching to EQ2. EQ2 rules!
What type of work do you do? California District Manager for a large international electronics manufacturer. Don't tell anyone, but sometimes I goof off with EQ2 when I'm supposed to be doing important work!
What is your favorite food and drink to snack on while playing EQII? Diet Coke and/or Nelly's Pimp Juice (actual drink name) with Frosted Apple Pop Tarts!
How long is your typical gaming session when playing EQII? I play 4 to 6 hours a day, 6 days a week! EQ2 rules!
What does a typical day in EQII consist of for you? I log in, own some uber mobs in the face with with my guild (Dissolution rules!), and then either quest or do instances on my main character for phat lewt and glory, or play my alts with friends. I've been playing my Iksar Conjuror quite a bit recently, his name is Fishlips Jones. As everyone on Nektulos knows, Fishlips > Itooock! (just mentioning that so a friend I play alts with will know he's been pwned :) )
What was the race and class of your very first character? In EQ, my first character was a human paladin. I deleted him at level 6 after getting stuck in the tree city of Kelethin, someone bound me up there, then I couldn't find my way down, I couldn't even suicide down by jumping, since my bind point was up in the trees at the bank. So then I made a human cleric and played him for almost 5 years. When I came to EQ2, I decided to be different and made Ixnay, a Gnome Shadow Knight.)
What got you into gaming and what sort of games do you like the most? I got into gaming after discovered this is a great legal way to release work tension. I'm also convinced that games like EQ2 offer the best and least expensive value possible. I only play one game at a time, and EQ2 is my game of choice, and I think it's the best game of its type on the market, by far.
Pirates, ninjas, vikings, robots, or other? Pirates, ninjas, and vikings are cool, but I've never understood why some people like robots. Other is just something I try to avoid whenever possible.
What other hobbies or activities do you take part in, other then playing EverQuest II? I like to watch the History Channel, travel to places I've never been before, and daydream about Owlchick.
What is your highest level in EQII? I have 2 level 70 adventurers and 2 others above level 60.
What race and class is your main character? Human Defiler
What do you like the most about the class you have chosen for your main character? A Defiler in EQ2 is like an evil Shaman from EQ, and is definitely the class I feel the most skilled and natural playing out of all the different classes. Yet I still keep making more alts, because I really enjoy many things about different classes.
Write us a hilarious haiku:
A dragon roars;
my heart leaps for Owlchick
and the dragon falls
Do you craft with any of your characters? If so, what tradeskills? Yes! I have 5 level 70 crafters. Weaponsmith, Alchemist, Sage, Provisioner, Tailor
How did you choose your main character's name? Elleffgee = LFG, duh :) His last name used to be Aayeffkay, but I thought that a bit much.
What is your favorite zone? Overland zone: Nek Forest; dungeon: Runneye and Sols Eye, raid instance: Lord Vyemm's Laboratory.
What is your favorite NPC to fight? Dragons!
What is your favorite NPC to observe or talk to? Hmmm, I spend a lot of time at the broker, he's a npc!
What's the first word that comes to mind when you read: Pepper? Lasagna? =p
Do you have an item you no longer use but keep around for nostalgic reasons? If so what is it and why do you keep it? I still carry around my J-boots from the heritage quest, but I haven't used them in ages. I love items with cool effects, and am always sad when I outgrow the item and can't replace the effect on a higher level item.
What do you like best about EverQuest II? Just about everything, this game has something for everyone, and I enjoy grouping, crafting, raiding, two-boxing, and the commerce aspects of this game very much.
What is your favorite or most memorable moment from EverQuest II? Definitely it's the thrill of victory or the agony of defeat involved in racing to a competitive spawn or being a member of the first guild to defeat an encounter on my server or gamewide.
Cake, pie, or other? I like pie. :)
Thank you, Ixnay, for that great interview! Stay tuned to see who will be in next week's Player Spotlight!
