Where in do you live in real life? Where the winds come sweeping down the plains! (Hint: It's a Rodgers & Hammerstein musical title).
How long have you played EQII? Since beta.
What other MMOs have you played?Oh, bunches. I think I started with Neverwinter Nights as a game reviewer, but EverQuest Live (EQ1) was the one with the magic. I have played most of them and been a beta tester for many.
What type of work do you do? I'm a psychologist and freelance writer. My gaming is... research. Yes... it's research!
What is your favorite food and drink to snack on while playing EQII? Chocolate.
How long is your typical gaming session when playing EQII? Hours
What does a typical day in EQII consist of for you? A lady has to give attention to her beauty regimen, so of course before looking for a group I fix my hair and nails and make sure my attire is appropriate for the occasion. I warm up by singing scales in guild chat, or, failing that (say, when they put me on /ignore) I sing out in /ooc or /shout. Once I get warmed up, I normally will belt out a few verses from this song or that, or perhaps share an original poem or other bit of doggerel for the innocent victims, er, bystanders waiting for transportation at the bell or griffon.
What was the race and class of your very first character? My first EQ2 character was Suite, as she migrated from EQ1.
What got you into gaming and what sort of games do you like the most?My family got me into gaming--namely, my kids. One day my son came home with a couple of his buddies and a game called EverQuest. We loaded it up and I fell in love. I have played MMOGs for years now with my husband and children and it's so much more fun than television!
My favorite games are MMOGs, especially fantasy based or roleplaying types (like EQ).
Pirates, ninjas, vikings, robots, or other? Pirates, of course.
What other hobbies or activities do you take part in, other then playing EverQuest II? I'm always taking some sort of class, attending events my children are involved with, doing church stuff, or other good works (such as helping little old ladies across the street). I play five or six musical instruments and also translate spiritual works into obscure languages, and then on Fridays I bake cookies for the prisoners. On the weekends I like to find lost box turtles, bathe them, and send them on their way refreshed. It's an exhausting business, but someone has to do it.
What is your highest level in EQII? For a second there I thought you asked, "What is your highest level IQ?" Whew, you scared me!
My highest EQ2 character is level 70.
What race and class is your main character? My original main character was Suite. However, my family wanted someone to heal them, so my next main character became my level 70 high elven templar. Now we seem to have a bunch of templars on my server so Suite (half elven troubador) has once again become my new main.
What do you like the most about the class you have chosen for your main character? That's difficult to answer, because (like many EQ2 players) I have more than one favorite. I love my templar because she is a holy, high elven healer. What's not to like about high elven templars? They're almost like angels. It's a wonderful opportunity to be responsible for the health of an adventuring group or to help keep a raid alive.
But, then, there are the half elves like Suite: sassy, displaced, a blend of human and elven. Hand them a banjo and they can sing! So of course, I love the troubador as well. Especially if they are half elves.
Write us a hilarious haiku:
Who can be hilarious when Blackguard is leaving us? I only hope you plan to start wearing an eye patch, Raijinn!
With that, here is my sad haiku in honor of Blackguard, Ye Olde Former Community Manager:
/strums mandolin mournfully
Blackguard is leaving
Magnificent pirate and
Booty plunderer!
Do you craft with any of your characters? If so, what tradeskills? /evade. Advice to the Love-lorn; fingernail filing and painting; hair braiding; Fashion Consulting. I am mistress of all these, but am especially fond of braiding hair for high elven and barbarian guys.
How did you choose your main character's name? My templar's name is Eliana, which means "my Lord has answered." This seemed a quite appropriate and beautiful name for a priest. Suite's name I carried over from EQ1.
What is your favorite zone? I like Zek
What is your favorite NPC to fight? I really enjoy the Halls of Fate. I don't really have a favorite NPC to fight, but as a rule I like fighting big dragons.
What is your favorite NPC to observe or talk to? I have a major crush on Marshal Surefoot in the Baubbleshire.
What's the first word that comes to mind when you read: Pepper? Red hot chili
Do you have an item you no longer use but keep around for nostalgic reasons? If so what is it and why do you keep it? Yes, my husband. He's a halfling warden. ;o)
Because he's almost as cute as Marshal Surefoot.
What do you like best about EverQuest II? The sheer fun of it! And the fact that it's family friendly.
What is your favorite or most memorable moment from EverQuest II? Probably getting my prismatic 1.0. It reminded me of that old EQ1 epic quest.
Cake, pie, or other? Chocolate.
Thank you, Suite, for that great interview! Stay tuned to see who will be in next week's Player Spotlight!
